Can it be? Christmas day has come and past, and a new year is upon us. the baby is taking a nap the husband is at church and I'm home relaxing. still in my pj's poking around on the computer. all is well. i decided to try out my new food dehydrator this morning. we'll see how it goes later. i'm very excited. i also got an ice cream maker which i'm dying to try out too.
it's amazing how little time it takes for a baby to lose his interest in a task. for example: opening gifts. it took forever for us to open evan's presents.. after unloading his stocking and finding a new toothbrush, he didn't want to do anything else but walk around and let Captain Destructo take over the house.
jason decided to make us pancakes for brunch which were tasty, but in the process tried to smoke us out of the house with his new cast iron skillet thing i bought for him. that was funny.
evan got a bunch of stuff, and amazingly jay and i bought each other the same gift.. a d+d book.. it's amazing b/c there are many out there, but we both picked the same one. funny how we know each other i guess.
tyler got from us a joke gift that has history: plastic swizzle sticks. i won't talk about the story here to protect the innocent, but for those who were there, may laugh about it now. i think that was one of the most entertaing gifts fo the friends Christmas party. Trev got "Beer Money" a card game which involves beating people up. also quite amusing.
for today we have some not so big plans, of checking on the drying food, perhaps some shopping of christmas stuff for next year at super cheap prices, and taking care of our son who accidentaly pulled his high chair on himself last night and got a bloody nose. poor little dude.
got to run, for evan is waking up now. Hope everyone had an enjoyable Christmas.

the beach
I wonder how everyone is doing these days. especially people i haven't seen in a long time, those from my high school days, and family far away. perhaps it's b/c i'm nosy or maybe b/c it's christmas time once again. actually i've been curious for many of these people for a long time.. several years even, only i have no way to get in touch with them. some of them i've tried to IM, but they do not get back to me. do they care, or are they just confused as to who i am b/c i have a new screen name and a different last name from whence they were my good friends. i wish we didn't drift apart, but life goes on.
my husband is still close to those he grew up with. mostly b/c they went to college together, and also they are still rooted around the valley where they grew up. most of my friends from when i was a teenager have gone to such places as california, new bedford, colorado... but there are a great handful where i don't know where they are. i'm sure many are still around wareham somewhere, but others have made the trek, like me, away from the beach, away from family including all these friends. i dont' resent moving out to the valley at all... i love it here, but my heart does and will always cling to where i grew up, and i'll always long to visit hoping to see some of my old friends around town.
i dont' go there nearly enough to fill my need to be at the beach. we did go to marshfield this year, and it felt nice to be at the water again.. i hadn't been in long time. we'd go visit more, but the hotels are way expensive and neither of my immediate family members live in places that can accomodate a small family. such is life.
Evan has taken over the reaigns of the computer, so rather than fighting, i'll sign off.

Tis the Season
can it be? Evan is a year old as of Nov 10th! holy crap. we had his party and I think it went well. Evan got a bunch of overall's and a slue of toys. i'll post some pictures somewhere when we get them developed. we're slow. speaking of slow we're well overdue for some oil changes.
Ahh.... Tis the season they say. thanksgiving is 2 days away and we're having the party at our house. only five people over tho which will be real nice. not too many for the first time is always important.
Jason is planning a "holiday" party on dec 11th. he's inviting a slue of people. it should be interesting. (but fun too!) then he's getting his wisdom teeth pulled the day before is birthday. (ouch!) and possibly going out on his birthday to a symphony concert in town, perhaps dinner... we'll see. then onward to christmas and new years. plus we have things going on in between. phew! i feel busy already.
christmas shopping is just about complete.. thank God. i just got to by some things for jason and i think he's got to get a few things for me.
Christine going to have her baby soon!!! i'm gonna be an auntie!!! a little boy... i'll post pics of him too when/if i get some. i'm very excited... i love babies... especially my baby. he's so cute and makes me laugh everyday. his favorite thing these days is to go behind the curtains and play peek-a-boo. he's also walking every where... working on running.
life is getting crazy as we know it.
dinner is calling.

randomness
ahh... the first entry, not sure what to write about.
Evan, my son, who is about to turn 1 (on the 10th), has been suffering with his molars. ugh! it's been miserable the past couple of days. after what we call "a situation" this morning he seems to be in much better spirits. thank God b/c it's been agony just trying to make him comfortable. thankfully babies only have to teeth once... it may take a couple years getting them in, but, it's not pleasant.
I have a job doing absolutely nothing which pertains to my college degree in communication. it's an "ok" job. i test well water for the state, through UMass Amherst. people complain to MassHighway about their water tasting like road salt, and they send me to their houses to grab water samples. don't let me fool you.. it's not that an exciting of a job.
as it stands i think i may know 1 person whose degree is doing them some good. my friend julie from college is working at news 22. now i'm not sure what she does there, but atleast it's at a tv station. Several people i know are currently looking for jobs in their field, and hopefully it goes well.
Evan just woke up, perhaps i'll write more later
